Why should you visit Canada?

Canada is one of the most developed countries in the world and the second largest. It is very economically prosperous and tourism is a large part of the economy.

In 2019, Tourism contributed around $39 billion to Canada’s economy.

What is a Canadian Visit Visa

A visitor visa is a document allowing citizens of visa required countries to enter Canada as a visitor for up to six months. The two main types of visitor visas are single entry and multiple entry visas. Evidently, single entry visas only allow for one entry into Canada while multiple entry visas allow multiple entries while the visa is valid.

Canada Visitor Visa Requirements

The basic requirements for a visitor visa are as follows, the applicant must:

Have a valid travel document (ie. passport)

Be in good health

Have no criminal convictions

Convince the immigration officers that they intend to go back home once the visa expires and that they have sufficient ties to their home country - this is generally done through assets, finance, family, and work back in the applicant’s home country.

Have enough money for their stay - this will depend on the length of the stay and other conditions such as where they will be staying.

Canada Visit Visa Cost and Processing Time for Visitor Visa Renewal

The processing time for the visitor visa application will vary depending on the home country of the applicant. Generally, it can take around a month. The processing fee for the visitor visa is $100 per person, in addition to this applicants may have to pay the $85 biometrics fee. If applying for a family of 5 or more, the processing fee will be capped at $500. If extending a visitor visa, a processing fee of $100 will apply and if restoring visitor status, a processing fee of $200 will apply.

How to Apply for Visitor Visa for Canada

Before applying for the visitor visa, applicants must determine if they are eligible and gather the appropriate documents to prove their eligibility. Applicants will then apply online, upload the appropriate documents, and pay the application fees.
