From Western or Fanshawe to Permanent Residence: Study, PGWP and the OINP
If you study at Western University or Fanshawe College, both are on Ontario’s list of eligible institutions for the Ontario Workforce Priority stream of the OINP. The route usually runs in three steps: a study permit, a post-graduation work permit (PGWP), then a job offer from an Ontario employer that can lead to a nomination. A PGWP is not automatic: you must graduate from an eligible program at a designated learning institution and apply within 180 days of completing it. Recent Ontario graduates, meaning a credential earned in the last three years, need less work experience under the stream. For skilled (TEER 0 to 3) job offers, they also do not need a language test for the stream. The employer must still start the process, and an invitation is never guaranteed. We help London students and graduates plan each step.

No, Immigration Pros RCIC-licensed consultants can handle permanent residence applications effectively for London settlement through Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (now the single Ontario Workforce Priority Stream since June 25, 2026) and Express Entry streams. We’re authorized to represent clients before IRCC and offer specialized Ontario immigration expertise at more accessible rates than lawyers.
Absolutely. Immigration Pros clients seeking London immigration save time, avoid application errors, and achieve higher approval rates for Ontario programs. Our investment often saves thousands in reapplication costs and delays, while providing expert guidance through complex Ontario immigration processes and university city advantages.
Immigration Pros provides comprehensive services for London employers and Ontario businesses, including LMIA applications, guidance through the Ontario Workforce Priority Stream job offer registration (the current path to nominate a foreign worker under OINP), work permit applications, compliance guidance, and strategic planning for London workforce recruitment and retention.
Immigration Pros clients in London get the strongest results through the Ontario Workforce Priority Stream — currently the only active stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program — where a London employer registers a job offer and the candidate submits an Expression of Interest within 30 days. We also work with Express Entry (with an Ontario job offer), family sponsorship, and student pathways. We analyze your profile to recommend the right pathway, whether you’re new to London or already residing in Ontario’s university city.
Possibly, but graduating does not give you a right to permanent residence. If your program qualifies, you would typically apply for a PGWP first. The Ontario Workforce Priority stream then needs a job offer from an Ontario employer who starts the process. Western University and Fanshawe College are both eligible institutions for that stream, which gives recent graduates a shorter work experience requirement. We check your program and your options before you plan around either route.
Immigration Pros offers 99% success rates, specialized Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program expertise, deep knowledge of London’s university city advantages, transparent pricing, and comprehensive support for individuals, families, and businesses in London throughout their entire Ontario immigration process and community integration.
Immigration Pros consultants offer the same legal representation authority as lawyers but with specialized Ontario immigration focus, London-specific program knowledge, more accessible pricing, and personalized service for clients seeking London immigration. Our RCIC credentials ensure professional competency at better value for Ontario applications.
Yes, Immigration Pros provides comprehensive citizenship services for London permanent residents, including eligibility assessment, document preparation, application review, test preparation guidance, and representation throughout the citizenship process for Ontario residents ready to become Canadian citizens.
Immigration Pros recommends starting early for London immigration goals. The Ontario Workforce Priority Stream (the only open OINP stream since June 25, 2026) and university admission cycles affect timing. Beginning 12-18 months before your intended move allows time for document preparation, language testing, and strategic application timing for optimal Ontario immigration success and university city integration.
