Alberta has one of Canada’s most direct immigration landscapes. Here is what makes Calgary a standout destination — and where expertise creates real results.
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program offers multiple streams for skilled workers, international graduates, and rural communities — a direct path to Alberta permanent residence.
A provincial nomination from AAIP adds 600 points to your Express Entry CRS score, which in practice usually leads to an Invitation to Apply, but an invitation is not guaranteed.
Calgary’s oil, gas, and clean energy industries generate some of Canada’s highest employer-driven immigration activity. Skilled workers in energy, engineering, and trades are in acute demand.
Consistently rated among Canada’s top cities for employment, income, and quality of life. One of the fastest-growing metro areas in the country with strong demand across all sectors.
Alberta is the only province in Canada without a provincial sales tax — meaning more of your income stays with you. A significant financial advantage for newcomers building their lives here.
Alberta faces critical shortages in skilled trades, healthcare, and technology. Employers are actively seeking foreign workers, making Calgary one of the strongest markets for LMIA approvals in Canada.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are authorized immigration consultants?
Authorized immigration consultants are professionals registered with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC). Only CICC members in good standing can legally charge fees for immigration advice and representation in Canada. You can verify any consultant's status at any time on the CICC Public Register.
What is the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) and who can apply?
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) is Alberta's provincial nominee program. It includes streams for skilled workers with Alberta job offers, international graduates from Alberta post-secondary institutions, rural and remote community candidates, and entrepreneurs. In 2026 the AAIP has a total allocation of 6,603 nominations, and a Worker Expression of Interest carries a $135 fee since April 7, 2026. Successful nominees receive a provincial nomination certificate, which they can use to apply for permanent residence through the federal government. Our consultants assess your eligibility across all AAIP streams and guide you through the application from start to finish.
Can an AAIP nomination boost my Express Entry score for Calgary?
Yes — and significantly. A provincial nomination from AAIP adds 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points to your Express Entry profile. Because a provincial nomination places you far above typical draw cut-offs, it usually leads to an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in an upcoming federal draw, although IRCC does not guarantee an invitation. This makes the AAIP one of the most powerful tools for candidates who want to settle in Calgary specifically. Our team evaluates your base CRS score alongside AAIP stream eligibility to identify your fastest path to permanent residence.
