Caregiver program

We help Canadian employers prepare the necessary paperwork to hire Live-in Caregivers in Canada or abroad. We take care of the LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) when applicable and organize the work permit abroad, or the employer’s change on the work permit if the caregiver is in Canada.

Since June 18, 2019, LMIAs for caregivers aren’t needed for people applying outside of Canada, due to the closure of the Live-in Caregiver Program. You can find more information about the new programs below.

For live-in caregivers already working in Canada, an LMIA will be needed.

Since June 18, 2019, the Live-in caregiver program has been closed. In its place, two new pilots are now available for the next five years (until 2024).

The Home Child Care Provider Pilot and the Home Support Worker Pilot allow applicants to apply for Permanent Residence, including their families, after gaining two years of experience as a caregiver in Canada. The first part of the applications belongs to the work permit, no LMIA is needed, and after two years, it’s possible to continue the application for Permanent Residence.

From the very beginning, this program assesses the applicant's chances to obtain the Permanent  Residence before approving the work permit application. For this reason, the requirements now demand higher qualifications. If you would like to evaluate your chances to apply, call us for a free assessment.

For those who have already been in Canada for 20 months or more, call us. We will work with you to evaluate/obtain your specific permanent residency needs as you may qualify under the old program requirements.

Do not risk one of the most important applications you will file in your life by having errors or mistakes. Sometimes a word or a number not written properly can complicate things. You may lose thousands of dollars in lost work opportunities that you could have taken up, had you gotten your open work permit sooner.

Your family members also form part of your application. Do not risk seeing them many months later than planned because you are called for an interview to clarify things that could have been made clear from the start on the original application.

We know how to file your application correctly. Leave it to Immigration Pros!
